We follow the FAA’s checklist for your checkride, called the ACS, so you know what the examiner can ask before the day.
Saturday · 9 AM–5 PM
- How the checkride works and what the examiner checks
- Your documents, the weather, and making safe decisions
- Airspace, charts, the airplane’s systems and performance
An hour for lunch
Sunday · 9 AM–5 PM
- The rules, and what to do in an emergency
- Talking through the maneuvers you will fly
- A practice oral exam with the group

What happens on a checkride?
It is your final test with an FAA examiner. It starts with questions on the ground, called the oral exam, then you fly with the examiner. This weekend gets you ready for the questions.
What is the ACS?
The Airman Certification Standards: the FAA’s list of everything an examiner can test on your checkride. We go through it topic by topic.
When should I come?
When your checkride is a month or two away. It is not for brand-new students; start with the written test class instead.
When do I pay the rest?
$100 holds your seat when you sign up. The other $499 is due Saturday morning: pay before class or when you arrive. The $100 is part of the $599 total.
Can I come if I fly at another school?
Yes. Students from any flight school are welcome.
Where is it?
In person, in our classroom at 2550 N Thunderbird Cir Ste 132, Mesa, AZ 85215, at Falcon Field. Both days run 9 AM–5 PM, with an hour for lunch.
